Introduction
These terms govern your use of The Her Edit App, operated by Ugbah Ventures Ltd (company number 16796778), registered in England and Wales at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, trading as The Her Edit.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Who can use the app
You must be 18 or over and able to enter into a binding agreement. The app is currently offered in the United Kingdom.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Please let us know at hello@theheredit.co.uk if you think someone else has accessed it.
You may close your account at any time from within the app. When you do, your data is permanently deleted.
Important — this is not medical advice
The Her Edit App is a personal record-keeping and reflection tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
This matters, so please read it carefully:
- The Health Hub helps you record what you observe about your own body. It does not interpret it clinically.
- The patterns and summaries shown in your check-in history are simple counts and averages of what you have entered. They are not clinical findings and should not be treated as such.
- The PDF report is a record of what you wrote, formatted for easier reading. It does not constitute a medical record.
- Medication reminders are a convenience. They are not a substitute for a prescribed regimen, and you should not rely on them alone.
Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional about your health. Never delay seeking medical advice, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something in this app. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services.
Not financial advice
If you use the Money Edit, the savings goals and figures you enter are a tracking tool for your own use. Nothing in the app is financial advice or a recommendation. Please consult a qualified financial adviser for that.
Your content
Anything you write in the app — journal entries, health records, goals, reflections — belongs to you. We claim no ownership over it.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to store it, display it back to you, and operate the app. Nothing more. We do not use your content to train anything, market anything, or share with anyone.
Our content
The app itself, its design, the essays in The Magazine, the reflections, and The Her Edit name and branding are owned by Ugbah Ventures Ltd and protected by copyright and trade mark (UK00004353828).
You are welcome to read, use and enjoy it personally. Please do not copy, republish or redistribute it commercially without our permission.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- Use the app for anything unlawful
- Attempt to access another user’s account or data
- Interfere with the app’s security or try to disrupt it
- Use automated tools to scrape or harvest content
- Impersonate anyone else
We may suspend or close accounts that do any of these.
Availability
We aim to keep the app running well, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or entirely free of faults. We may need to take it offline for maintenance, and we may change or remove features as the app develops.
The app is currently in an early stage. You may encounter bugs. We would be grateful if you told us about them.
Payment
The app is currently free to use.
If we introduce paid features in future, we will tell you clearly beforehand, and no existing free feature will be taken away from you without notice. Founding Editors keep free access as promised.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited in law.
Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows: we provide the app “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses; and we are not liable for any decision you make about your health, finances, career or family based on what is recorded in the app.
You remain responsible for your own health decisions, taken in consultation with qualified professionals.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated terms.
Ending your use
You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue the app. If we discontinue it, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
